Hampton by Hilton Budapest City Centre, the first Hampton by Hilton hotel in Hungary, opened in Budapest’s District 6 (Terézváros), it was announced at a press conference in Budapest on Tuesday.
The hotel manager, Anita Siklósi, said the six-story hotel has 219 rooms, and an average occupancy rate of 65-70% is expected this year. Currently, the hotel has a 60% occupancy rate.
The property is owned by Long Bridge Dessewffy utca Ltd. and operated by Hilton. The cost of developing the three-star hotel, which is a greenfield investment, is being kept a trade secret, she said.
Accrding to the manager, the Hungarian capital is popular with foreign tourists, including those from overseas, who book an average of three days at the Hampton by Hilton Budapest City Centre. Two-thirds of individual guests are American, and the proportion of Far Easterners is also increasing, she noted.
Hilton has 22 different hotel brands, including the most popular Hampton by Hilton, with more than 2,900 hotels. The hotel company has nearly 7,300 properties and more than 1.1 million rooms in 123 countries and territories, MTI reports.
