Hunguest Hotels, a unit of listed holding company Opus Global, will sell two of its hotels in the Alps in Austria and purchase 8,000 square meters of land for development purposes in Bükfürdő (W Hungary), the company said on Wednesday.
The moves dovetail with the company's portfolio cleaning strategy initiated in 2021, focusing on acquiring and developing hotels with wellness, spa and conference services, they said.
The proceeds from the sale of the two hotels in question (Landhotel Post and Sporthotel) will be used on further developments and acquisitions.
Hungarian-owned Hilaris Hotels, which purchased the two hotels operating in two seasons at the foot of Austria's highest mountain, said the hotels will open from December.
