Danubius Hotels is adding the Radisson Individuals brand to its hotel portfolio under a franchise agreement signed with the Radisson Hotel Group, the company said on Wednesday.
The 126-room Hotel Erzsébet, recently fully renovated, will continue operating under the name Hotel Erzsébet City Center Budapest, a member of Radisson Individuals, from the end of the summer, it added.
The company, owned by the British firm CP Holdings Ltd, operates the Hilton Budapest and the Radisson Blu Béke Hotel in addition to Danubius Hotels and Ensana.
Balázs Kovács, CEO of Danubius Hotels Plc., is quoted as saying that the agreement confirms that international hotel brands view the company as a reliable operating partner in the long term. Following its renovation, Hotel Erzsébet will join an international brand that opens up new opportunities in international markets, he added.
According to the press release, David Jenkins, Vice President of Development for Eastern Europe at Radisson Hotel Group, emphasized that Budapest remains one of Central Europe’s most attractive tourist destinations, with strong demand from both leisure and business travelers.
In a previous announcement by Danubius Hotels, the company stated it spent HUF 50 billion from its own funds over the past five years to renovate nearly 1,000 rooms and suites at its properties in the capital, Bükkfürdő, Hévíz, and Balatonfüred.
The hotel chain has 4,046 rooms in Hungary, 70% of which have been completely renovated and are ready to welcome guests for the summer of 2026.
Danubius Hotels is a major player in the Hungarian hotel market, accounting for 9% of room capacity in Budapest and approximately 7% nationwide. Its hotel portfolio of sixteen hotels now includes five brands.
