The ibis & TRIBE Budapest Stadium Hotel has opened in Ferencváros, Budapest’s District 9, the first hotel in Hungary of TRIBE, one of the Accor Group's fastest growing European hotel brands.
Under a management agreement between Accor Hospitality Group and WING Real Estate Development and Investment Group, the dual-branded TRIBE and ibis hotel is owned by WING and operated by Accor.
The parties will treat the value of the development as a trade secret.
Ernő Takács, Deputy CEO of WING Plc. responsible for hotels, said at the opening ceremony on Thursday that this is the first TRIBE-branded hotel in Hungary and the largest development of their hotel business to date. The hotel is operated by the Accor Group and the main clientele is sports fans and sports teams, or visitors to the city, due to the hotel's exceptional location next to the football stadiums and the athletics hall.
He said that further developments are planned because their hotels are performing above the market average, with three projects in preparation and one under construction.
Noah Steinberg, CEO of WING, stated that the hotel is part of the Liberty office building development, which was completed in 2018 and has about 58,000 square meters of office space next to Magyar Telekom's headquarters, with 41,000 square meters of leasable space. Of this, the hotel complex was completed on 10,000 square meters with 332 rooms.
He added that the Budapest Stadium Hotel, which includes the TRIBE and ibis brands, is located in the immediate vicinity of the Groupama Arena, the MVM Dome, the National Athletics Center, the Palace of Arts and the National Theater, and is designed for those interested in three- and four-star accommodation. This further expands the successful partnership with Accor, alongside the ibis Styles at the airport and the TRIBE Hotel Budapest Airport, which is under construction. To date, more than 1,000 hotel rooms have been delivered or are under development by the WING Hotel division.
