The world's largest sporting event, the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, is not only a celebration of passion for sport, but also a key milestone in the development of sustainability and environmental awareness. In addition to the outstanding performance of the athletes, the Paris Olympics also focus on emphasizing sustainable solutions and social responsibility. As the leading manufacturer of collapsible containers, Continest Technologies Plc. also plays a role in this green revolution.
The sustainability efforts of Paris 2024 are also supported by Continest's collapsible containers. The company, based in Székesfehérvár, SW of Budapest, is present in the French capital with 52 innovative, collapsible containers in public spaces, at various Olympic venues and in the German Olympic team's own zone. It is particularly noteworthy that the Continest containers were shipped with only six trucks instead of the 26 required for conventional rigid-frame containers.
Combining innovation and sustainability, Continest's modular collapsible containers have brought a new approach to the logistics and container industry market. After the UEFA European Football Championship in Germany, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championships in Portland, Oregon, USA and the ABB FIA Formula E World Championships in London, UK, the company's newly developed sales units – the CN Retail containers – will also be presented at the world's biggest sports event, the Paris Olympics, this time with the sports goods retailer Legends. Providing practical and comfortable merchandising pavilions.
The CN Retail units developed for this summer event season continue to offer the possibility of modular combinations; the inner side walls have a special slatwall design, so they are suitable for quickly and without screws to furnish the wall surfaces required for sales. The long fold-down counter of the new CN Retail containers also has a lowered counter section, making it convenient for wheelchair users to shop.
Dániel Tegzes, strategic director of Continest, was also present during the installation of Continest units delivered on behalf of Arena Group. Summarizing his experience on site in Paris, he said that the eco-friendly design of the quick-to-install containers reflects Continest's commitment to sustainable solutions, which fully met the goals of the Paris Olympics, as Continest containers significantly reduce the environmental impact during installation and transport, providing real green solutions. He also talked about how Continest's containers have proven their usefulness not only at the five-a-side games, but also during many humanitarian projects around the world – for example, during the temporary housing of victims of the Maui fire, or during the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
Continest says it proudly represents the future of green technology and they are confident that their products can contribute to the sustainable direction of Paris 2024. When the spirit of the Olympic event and the vision of Continest are aligned, they promise the possibility of a new, more sustainable future in the world of megasport events.
