The water of the well that feeds the Vadász Street sports center in District V in downtown Budapest has been certified as medicinal water, and the facility has protected its five-star swimming pool trademark, the district municipality informed MTI on Thursday.
According to the announcement, the V.30 Downtown Sports Center, created by the municipality of and inaugurated in 2021, will not only offer visitors a full sports and wellness experience, but also provide a healing environment for people suffering from musculoskeletal disorders in the thermal water with a sodium-calcium-chloride-sulphate-hydrogen-carbonate composition coming from a depth of 800 meters.
"With this certification, the V.30 V.30 Sports Center has become the first facility in Budapest to function as a sports center in addition to providing thermal water and wellness services," they wrote.
As part of the project to create its own sports center, launched in 2017, the district council had an 800-meter-deep well drilled. The heat produced by this thermal water, without the use of gas, is used to heat the facility and the pools without polluting the air, so it can be used not only for bathing but also for heating the entire building and the pools.
The district said that the procedure for testing the therapeutic effect was launched at the end of 2021.
