18 More Coronavirus Infections Identified in Hungary

The number of identified coronavirus infections in Hungary increased by eighteen to 4,333, there are no new deaths, according to the government website koronavirus.gov.hu.

The number of deaths from the infection remained unchanged at 596, and 3,223 people had already recovered. The number of active infections is 514. 82 coronavirus patients are treated in hospital, three of them are on a ventilator.
Data on the site suggest that 5,486 people are in official home quarantine. The number of samples taken so far is 307,846 but the number of people tested has not been disclosed.

It is highlighted on the website that the epidemic is still present and spreading strongly in several countries, so epidemiological preparedness remains in place in Hungary. The goal is to keep the virus outside the country and avoid further tightening and restrictions, it says. Therefore, entry restrictions have been put in place to prevent the introduction of the infection from abroad and the outbreak of the epidemic in Hungary.

The general rules remain the same: face mask must still be worn in shops and on public transport, and musical and dance events for more than 500 people can still not be held. In the case of newly infected people, the epidemiological authority will interview and contact them in accordance with the current procedure.
