Another COVID-19 Related Death in Hungary

The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 39 new Hungarian citizens, which increased the number of infected people in Hungary to 4,916. An elderly, chronic patient has died, bringing the number of deaths to 608, and 3,623 have already recovered.

According to official figures on the pandemic-related government website, the number of active infections is 685. 31% of the active infected, 60% of the dead and 43% of the recovered are from Budapest. There are 62 patients with coronavirus hospitalized, six of whom are on a ventilator.

The epidemic is still present and widespread in several countries, so epidemiological preparedness remains in place, the site says. The aim, according to official information is to keep the virus out of the border and to avoid further tightening and restrictions. That is why entry restrictions have come into force, the aim of which is to prevent the introduction of the infection from abroad and the outbreak of the epidemic in Hungary. Returnees from yellow- and red-rated countries, as well as all those ordered during epidemiological contact research, must remain in official home quarantine.
