The latest capacity-expanding investment of Astotec Automotive Hungary LP., a company specializing in automotive parts manufacturing, was officially inaugurated in Pápa, W Hungary.
Astotec Automotive Hungary LP., a member of the Austrian-owned ASTOTEC Automotive Group, develops and produces automotive safety components. In their Pápa plant, a strategic, EUR 10 million capacity-expansion project has been completed. The development includes a 160-square-meter facility extension and the installation of state-of-the-art production equipment, creating 10 new jobs in the region. Slightly less than a quarter of the investment cost are covered by Hungarian taxpayers through a government decision.
The company manufactures pyrotechnic actuators, electrical circuit breakers, and gas generators for passenger and pedestrian safety systems. These innovative solutions activate within milliseconds in the event of an accident, enhancing the safety of passengers and pedestrians while protecting the vehicle’s electrical systems.
The new, key equipment not only increases production capacity but also strengthens the region’s industrial infrastructure, enabling the majority of group-wide developments to take place in Hungary, thereby supporting the local economy and creating jobs.
The company’s clients primarily include leading European car manufacturers, such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, and Jaguar. Through these and other suppliers, they indirectly serve almost every well-known European car manufacturer, further reinforcing Hungary’s position in the automotive industry. Their international presence – in addition to Austria, they also have manufacturing capacity in the United States, Czechia, and China – helps ensure that domestic investments, connected to global markets, generate further value for the region.
