A total of 39,928 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Hungary on Monday morning (based on 132,824 samples taken), 18,709 more than a week earlier, according to data from the government information portal.
The number of infected people has risen to 1,441,385 since the beginning of the pandemic, while the number of active patients is 191,312. 2,921 patients with coronavirus are currently hospitalised, 176 of them are on ventilators. The number of cured patients is steadily increasing, currently 1,209,129.
Of the 122 patients who died in the last three days, the majority were elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of deaths to 40,944.
To date, 6,342,496 people have been vaccinated, of whom 6,080,592 have already received the second vaccine, while 3,554,502 have received the third vaccine.
