Close to 9,000 Newly Infected Detected in One Day

8,883 new infections have been confirmed in Hungary in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of identified infections since the beginning of the epidemic to 1,730,366, the government information portal reports. 97 patients have died, bringing the official total number of deaths to 42,851 in this country.

The number of cured persons is now 1 478 480 and the number of active infected persons is 209 035.

5166 patients with coronavirus are hospitalised, 203 of them are on ventilators. The number of people hospitalized has decreased by 53 in one day.

The number of people vaccinated is 6,384,088, of whom 6,144,019 have already had their second vaccination and 3,773,694 have had their confirmatory third vaccination.
