Another 192 patients died in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths in Hungary to 34,713. 11,152 new infections have been confirmed, bringing the total number of people identified as infected in the country since the beginning of the epidemic to 1,114,260, the government information portal said.

Meanwhile, the latest data from Worldometers shows that Hungary once again ranks first in the world in terms of COVID-19 deaths per population. According to the statistics aggregation site, Hungary is followed by Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine and Lithuania in the seven-day moving average of coronavirus-related deaths per million population.

There are 7,546 coronavirus patients in hospital, 562 of whom are on ventilators, 52 fewer and 49 more than a day earlier.

In most parts of the country, the concentration of coronavirus hereditary material in wastewater is stagnating, with only Debrecen and Békéscsaba showing a downward trend. However, concentrations are still elevated at all monitoring points.
