COVID-19: 271 Patients Died over the Weekend in Hungary

In the past three days, 21,081 new infections have been confirmed, bringing the total number of identified infections to 1,717,072 since the beginning of the outbreak, according to the government website koronavirus.gov.hu.

The 271 deaths in the past three days were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the official total number of fatalities related to the new coronavirus infection to 42,361.

The number of people who have recovered is now 1,450,631 and the number of active infected has fallen to 223,810, a drop of just under six thousand since the last data release.

5,186 patients with coronavirus are hospitalised, 199 of whom are on ventilators. The former figure has risen moderately and the latter has fallen.

The total number of vaccinated persons is 6,383,007, of whom 6,140,331 are on their second, 3,769,557 on their third and 160,566 on their fourth vaccination.
