COVID-19: Daily Death Toll Falls Below 100

98 Hungarians died as a result the new coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, bringing the total official number of deaths realted to the COVID-19 desease to 28,602. The last time the daily death toll was below 100 was on February 28.

A total of 1,145 new infections were registered in the past day, bringing the total number of identified infections to 791,709 since the beginning of the epidemic. The number of recovered persons is now 568,329 and the number of active infected persons has decreased to 194,778.

3,353 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, 403 of whom are on ventilators.

The number of vaccinated persons is 4,288,641, of whom 2,488,118 have already received their second vaccination.

More than 4.8 million people have already registered for vaccination and 80% have received it. Sinopharm, AstraZeneca and Sputnik vaccines can currently be booked online. Registration for next week's vaccination for 16-18 year olds closed at midnight on Friday, with more than 84,000 young people registered, for whom the online booking will also open within days.

GPs can continue vaccination with Sinopharm, Janssen and Moderna vaccines.
