Another 111 Hungarians succumbed to the new coronavirus in the past 24 hours, increasing the official number of COVID-19 fatalities to 11,520 in this country.
With 573 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hungary, the number of active coronavirus cases now stands at 109,841 while the total number of cases reported int he country so far is 353,276. The number of those who have recovered grew to 231,915.
There are currently 4,445 people hospitalized with the new new coronavirus infection, 309 of whom are on ventilators.
Hungary is to receive receive this Tuesday another shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, sufficient to inoculate 35,685 people.
Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller said the amount was “somewhat less” than expected. So far, Hungary has received enough vaccines to inoculate 129,860 people, and 123,188 people have received their shots, including over 10,000 residents and staff in elderly care homes.
