COVID-19: Daily Number of New Infections Below 2,000

1,936 new infections have been reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of identified infections to 771,454 since the beginning of the outbreak, according to the government website koronavirus.gov.hu.

176 patients have died, bringing the total official number of deaths to 26,801. The last time the number of patients who died within 24 hours was below 200 was on April 19.

The youngest victim is a 29-year-old man, according to data released on Monday, with an underlying medical condition, whcihj was not specified.

The current number of people recovered is 486,435 and the number of those active infected is 258,218.

There are 6,443 patients with coronavirus infection in hospital, over 200 more than a day earlier. 782 persons are on ventilators, eight patients less than a day ago. There are 35,472 people under official house quarantine.

The official number of vaccinated persons is 3,603 901, of whom 1,665,067 have already received their second vaccination.
