By Friday, a new coronavirus infection was detected in another 4,428 Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 295,977.
187 patients died in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of fatalities to 7,725. The number of recovered people is also constantly growing, currently being at 89,814, while the number of active infected people is 198,438.
Since December 14, the number of new infections in the statistics has dropped significantly. While the number of new cases of 4-6,000 had been regular in the previous days, it never went above 3,000 until Thursday. By Friday, that had changed, with nearly one thousand five hundred more infections reported than the previous day’s data.
