In the past three days, 5,223 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed (some 700 per day less than the number published last Friday), while the number of fatalities related to the new coronavirus epidemic was 84 over the week-end (ten per day less than the number published last Friday), according to official figures published by the related government website koronavirus.gov.hu.
The new cases brought the total number of identified infected people to 1,844 581 since the beginning of the outbreak.
Most of the 84 people who died were ill, bringing the official total number of deaths related to the new coronavirus infection to 45,342.
The number of cured persons is now 1,699,172, while the number of active infected persons has dropped to 100,067. 1,887 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, 60 of them are on ventilators.
The number of vaccinated persons is 6,401,980, of whom 6,186,269 are on their second, 3, 841,840 on their third and 256,021 on their fourth vaccination.
