3,274 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed over the weekend, bringing the total number of identified infections to 836,389 since the start of the outbreak. 51 patients, mostly elderly and with chronic desease, died Friday-Sunday and thus, the official number of new coronavirus deaths is 30.402.
The number of people cured is now 791,998 while that of people actively infected has risen to 13,989.
908 patients with coronavirus are in hospital, 108 more than last Thursday. Of those hospitalized, 126 are on ventilators.
The new cases are caused by the delta virus mutant, with unvaccinated people at greatest risk, so the government is urging them to register and get vaccinated as soon as possible.
The total number of people vaccinated is 5,924,063, of whom 5,700,021 have already received their second vaccination and 997,000 have already received their third jab.
