COVID-19: Fewer Actively Infected People Reported

13,261 new infections have been confirmed in the past three days, bringing the total number of identified cases in the country to 1,759,685 since the beginning of the epidemic. The number of active infected persons has decreased to 189,560.

According to the government website koronavirus.gov.hu, 233 mostly elderly, chronic patients died from Friday to Sunday, bringing the total number of deaths to 43,299.

The number of people recovering is now 1,526,826, a drop of 10,000 since the last data release.

4741 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, 176 of whom are on ventilators. Both figures are down slightly from last Friday.

The number of people vaccinated in Hungary is 6,389,336, of whom 6,156,649 are on their second vaccination and 3,791,546 are on their third.
