Both the number of Hungarians infected with the new coronavirus and that of those dying as a result of this infection are on the decrease, according to a summary published by the related government website koronavirus.gov.hu.
In the past week, 76 people, mostly elderly and chronically ill, have died, bringing the death toll to 47,367. The number of recovered patients is steadily increasing, currently 1,976,808.
10,300 new infections were confirmed last week, bringing the total number of infected persons identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 2,058,847, while the number of active infected has decreased to 34,672. 832 patients with coronavirus are currently hospitalized, 17 of whom are on ventilators. There are 2.371 in official house quarantine.
According to the statistics, a total of 6,416,883 people have been vaccinated so far, of whom 6,203 090 are on their second, 3,895,295 on their third and 337,097 on their fourth vaccination.
