A total of 14,742 new infections were confirmed last week in Hungary, bringing the total number of infected persons identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 2,036,390, the related government website koronavirus.gov.hu reports among last week's aggregated data.
The 108 deaths in the past week were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of deaths related to the new coronavirus in this country to 47,191.
The number of recovered patients is steadily increasing and currently stands at 1,945,910, while the number of active infected persons has decreased to 43,289.
Currently, 1251 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, 27 of whom are on ventilators. 1,811 are under official house quarantine.
The total number of vaccinated persons is 6,415,779, of which 6,201,969 are on their second, 3,893, 222 on their third and 331,787 on their fourth vaccination.
The number of people infected has continued to fall compared to recent weeks. Unvaccinated people remain the most at risk from the virus and are still being asked to be vaccinated. The booster vaccine is recommended for anyone who has received their previous vaccination more than four months ago, the government website adds.
