7,269 new infections were registered in Hungary in the past 24 hours. There have never been so many new infections in one day in Hungary in this pandemic, the highest number so far was 6,819 on November 29.
Officially, a total of 459,816 people have been infected with the virus in this country since the start of the pandemic.
In the last 24 hours, 146 patients have died, bringing the official number of deaths to 15,765. The number of active infections increased to 111,006.
There are currently 7,243 patients hospitalized with the new with coronavirus infection, 751 of whom are on ventilators. This is also an outstanding number, there have never been so many patients on ventilators since the start of the pandemic, although it was already clear that the number was rising sharply on Friday, when 677 people were on ventilators, according to the related government website. The last time that more than 7,000 coronavirus patients were hospitalized was in mid-December.
A total of 333,045 patients have recovered since the outbreak of the pandemic.
