The new coronavirus infection was detected in another 1,862 Hungarians by Thursday (some 50% more than in the previous 24 hours), increasing the number of identified infections in Hungary to 381,875.
The last time there such a high number of infections was was detected was on January 14, with 1,926 new patients.
97 patients died in the past 24 hours, bringing the official number of deaths related to the new coronavirus infection in this country to 13,444. The number of people recovered is currently 287,134, while the number of active infections has been reduced to 81,297.
3,799 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, 299 of whom are on ventilators. 20,036 tests have been performed in the last 24 hours, according to the related government website.
