The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was responsible for 128 deaths by Tuesday in Hungary - more than in any one day in 2021. They were mostly elderly, chronic patients. Thus, the official number of deaths related to the new coronavirus infection rose to 10,853 in this country.
The related government website (koronavirus.gov.hu) also writes that the infection was detected in another 696 Hungarian citizens in the past 24 hours, thus increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 344,352.
The number of recovered also is continuously increasing, standing currently at 209,852, while the number of active infections has decreased to 123,647.
There are 5,005 coronavirus patients hospitalized, 356 of them on ventilators.
A day earlier, the new coronavirus infection was detected in another 1,419 Hungarian citizens. There were 77 deaths, mostly elderly, chronic patients.
