COVID-19: No. of People Hospitalized Doubled in a Week

There are 828 patients with the new coronavirus infection in hospital in Hungary, more than double the number from last week (336), according to the weekly report published this Wednesday morning on the related government website.

According to statistics made public on the government information portal koronavirus.gov.hu, a total of 4,704 new infections were confirmed last week, slightly more than a week ago (4,259).

50 patients have died of the disease over the past week after 42 victims in the previous week, bringing the official number of deaths due to this infection to 48,337 since the start of the epidemic.

The number of active infections has decreased to 13,084 from last week’s figure of 13,707.

Of the 828 patients hospitalized, 14 are currently on ventilators, up from seven last week, while the number of people recovered is 2,109,635.

The number of people vaccinated is 6,420,354, of whom 6,206,710 are on their second vaccination, 3,902,535 on their third and 399,299 on their fourth.
