COVID-19: Official Numbers Show Improvement in Hungary

2,651 new infections have been confirmed in the past 24 hours – 251 less than a day before –, bringing the total official number of identified infections to 1,836,919 since the start of the outbreak, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Thursday.

Thirty-five mostly elderly, chronic patients died – seven fewer than a day before –, bringing the total number of deaths to 45,220.

The number of those cured fell to 1,689,460 and the number of active infected to 102,239.

1,971 patients with coronavirus are in hospital, 71 of whom are on ventilators. For the first time since the end of October, the number of covid-infected patients treated in hospital is below 2,000.

The total number of vaccinated is 6,400,875, of whom 6,184,076 are on their second vaccination, 3,836,209 on their third and 245,137 on their fourth.
