COVID-19: Over a Thousand New Infections in Hungary

By Thursday, the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) had been detected in another 1,141 people in Hungary, bringing the total number of infected people identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 831,866, according to official figures. The last time more than that, 1190 new cases, were reported in one day was on May 14.

Complications of Covid-19 caused by the coronavirus have resulted in another 11 deaths, bringing the total number of victims to 30,341.

The number of cured is 790,127, 422 more than the day before. The number of active infected rose by 708 to 11,398.

742 patients with coronavirus are in hospital, five more than the previous day. Of these, 113 are on ventilators; their number has decreased by three.

On Wednesday, 16,277 coronavirus tests were carried out in Hungary – 7,110 156 in total, so far – of which 7% were positive. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a country tests enough to get a true picture of the spread of the epidemic if the proportion of positive tests does not exceed 5%, hvg.hu reports.
