Last week, 21,840 new cases of coronavirus were identified in Hungary, 96 patients died, according to data published on Wednesday by the related government information portal.
The number of people vaccinated was 6,413,971, of whom 6,200,631 were vaccinated for the second time, 3,889,453 for the third time and 320,083 for the fourth time.
A total of 21,840 new infections were confirmed last week, bringing the total number of infected people identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 1,987,321.
In the past week, 96 patients, mostly elderly and chronic, died, bringing the total number of deaths to 46 886.
The number of recovered persons is steadily increasing, standing currently at 1,898,374, and the number of active infected persons has increased to 42,061.
There are currently 1,593 patients with coronavirus in hospital, 19 of whom are on ventilators.
2,115 people are under official house quarantine.
A week earlier, a total of 14,402 new cases were confirmed, according to aggregated data from the coronavirus information site. 54 patients had died. In hospitals, 1,345 patients with coronavirus were hospitalized, 19 of whom needed ventilators. 1,757 were under official house quarantine.
