COVID-19 Update: Improving Situation in Hungary

A total of 4,431 new infections were confirmed last week in Hungary (125 less than the number the number reported a week ago), bringing the total number of identified infections to 2,157,995 since the beginning of the epidemic, according to the related government website koronavirus.hu.

The 73 patients who died last week (19 less than the number the number reported a week ago) were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of deaths to 48,184.

The number of recovered patients is steadily increasing and is now 2,091,278, while the number of active infected persons has decreased to 18,533.

There are currently 749 patients with coronavirus in hospital, ten of whom are on ventilators.

The number of vaccinated persons is 6,419,758, of which 6,206,156 are on their second, 3,901,052 on their third and 381,998 on their fourth vaccination.
