The coronavirus vaccine arrives in Hungary on December 26, the vaccination of healthcare workers will start the next day, the authorities announced this Thursday.
The consignment of the first authorized coronavirus vaccine in Europe, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, is expected to cross the Hungarian border early Saturday morning, from where it will first arrive at the South Pest Central Hospital with police escort, and then to four more hospital vaccination points in the country.
The vaccination of health workers is scheduled to begin on Sunday, December 27.
Vaccines that require minus seventy degrees of refrigeration come in special boxes with a tracker and temperature sensor. The first shipment contains 9,750 doses of vaccine, which allows the vaccination of 4875 healthcare workers, given that one person has to be given two vaccinations with a 21-day difference.
