The Research Center for the Humanities of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Holocaust Memorial Center in Budapest organized an international conference ‘Crime, Responsibility – Memory’ on the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Holocaust.

At the
event held in the Ceremonial Hall of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Hungarian
and foreign lecturers spoke about the historical antecedents of the Holocaust
in Hungary, gave account of the latest research results related to the tragedy
seventy years ago and also talked about the responsibility of the later
generations.

Speakers at the conference included - among others - Hungarian Academy of Sciences President József Pálinkás, the President of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Hungary, András Heisler, Oxford Brookes University professor Roger Griffin or University of Szeged professor László Karsai.
