Deloitte Hungary announced the Green Frog Award for the 20th time to recognize companies that excel in the field of non-financial reporting in Hungary.
Following the autumn application period, a 13-member independent expert jury evaluated such reports received on the basis of a pre-defined system of criteria and points, and two companies, both of which issued such reports in 2020 for the first time, were voted the best unanimously. Lidl Hungary received the Best Sustainability Report Award, while Nanushka International Co Ltd. received the special award.
“Lidl’s report, published for the first time, is outstandingly well-structured, comprehensive, covering all areas of the company’s operations (stores, logistics centers, central office building) and locations. The content of the report was prepared based on the results of their materiality survey conducted in 2019 and the Lidl Responsibility Model (LRM), in accordance with the guidelines of GRI Standards. Its strategy is based on 5 pillars that are concrete and understandable. The indices are clear, with a base value, continuous evaluation, and deadlines for their fulfillment. The proportion of key performance indicators (KPIs) that comply with ISO and GRI standards is high, displayed in a well-traceable, transparent manner. It also presents the environmental and social impacts, explaining their contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” Irén Márta, Managing Director of the Hungarian Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSDH) and Chair of the Green Frog Award Jury said.
“We have also read an outstanding first report from Nanushka: their well-crafted report can be interpreted as a kind of creed with clear future goals, while being transparent, informative and clearly conveying commitment, not only at the report level but also to make actual operations sustainable,” Irén Márta explained Nanushka’s special prize.
