A record number of participants – over 20,000 people –, including members of the diplomatic corps, took part in the 29th Vivicittá running event of different distances on Budapest’s Margaret Island and the Pest embankment of the river Danube in pleasant spring weather this Sunday.
Altogether, a total of 20,750 people registered for the half-marathon and 10-kilometer distances from 57 countries to take part in the most important running event of this spring in the Hungarian capital.
The organizers prepared as refreshments for the runners 500 kilograms of bananas, 35 kilograms of glucose (grape sugar), 3,000 liters of iso drinks and 6,500 liters of water.
