Dreher Breweries Plc. held a ceremony to mark a key milestone in the first phase of its decade-long, EUR 240 million development program. The event also saw the signing of a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with the Hungarian government. As a result, Dreher Breweries Plc. became the government’s 103rd strategic partner.

The company continues to operate in the Kőbánya area (District 10 of Budapest), where the first brewery was established in 1854 and where production has been ongoing for more than 170 years. The Dreher family founded a brewery that, alongside producing high-quality products, strives for continuous improvement by combining tradition with innovation and sustainable development. Preserving jobs across several generations and supporting local communities have always played a key role in the life of the brewery.

The comprehensive modernization program, worth more than EUR 240 million, is the largest development in Hungarian beer production to date. Launched in 2024, it will take the entire beer production process to a new level.

The Master Plan includes four development phases. In the first phase, in addition to replacing the fermentation and maturation tanks, a new technology building and an energy center will be built to serve the entire production process and improve water and energy efficiency. As part of the investment, the basic structure has been completed for the time being, and the installation of the beer tanks will follow shortly.

86% of Dreher Breweries Plc.'s suppliers are domestic small and medium-sized enterprises, contributing more than 440 million pints of beer to domestic beer consumption annually.
