The Dutch Film Days at Toldi Cinema in the Hungarian capital are celebrating the richness of movies from the Netherlands through a strong selection of classics and recently released films between May 7 and 11.
Over the past few decades, Dutch filmmakers have developed a distinctive voice in global cinema, blending local stories with universal themes and gaining recognition on the international film festival circuit.
From powerful documentaries to thought-provoking feature films, Dutch cinema offers a wide variety of genres and approaches, often reflecting the country’s history of pragmatic cooperation and progressive social values. Our viewers will experience that contemporary Dutch cinema is marked by a blend of innovation, social relevance, and artistic exploration.
The Dutch Film Days will be kicked-off with a sneak preview of Szeretet@@Szeretet in the presence of its director Jeroen Kooijmans. In addition, Joram Lürsen, director of A Noble Intention and Johanna ter Steege, actress of The Marriage Escape will be present and will take part in a Q&A with film critic Lili Mesterházy.
The program is organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in close collaboration with SEE NL/Eye Filmmuseum Amsterdam.
