French, German and Dutch police officers are assisting the Budapest Police Headquarters (BRFK) at this year's Sziget Festival. The National Ambulance Service (OMSZ) is present at the event with a care center and nine ambulance units, MTI reported on Wednesday.

Csécsi Soma, spokesperson for the BRFK, emphasized at a press conference held on Wednesday, the opening day of the festival, that they are participating in the external and internal security of the event again this year.

"The police officers participating in external security are responsible for maintaining public safety, assisting with traffic, and directing and diverting traffic. In internal security, plainclothes officers will be responsible for preventing and interrupting crimes and taking the necessary measures. In addition to BRFK officers, uniformed police officers from France, Germany, and the Netherlands will also be present this year," the spokesperson said.

Foreign police officers are not authorized to take independent action on the island; they primarily assist the BRFK in communication and liaison. Uniformed police officers will mainly be present at the festival during the daytime.
