Hankook Tire Hungary Ltd., which has been operating in Hungary since 2007, is one of the country's largest foreign investors, which stands out not only for its economic performance but also for its social responsibility.
According to the company's statement, it is important to contribute to improving the quality of life of the people living in its environment and to support the development of education, health, sports and culture. "For Hankook, supporting communities is a matter of course. We are proud that through our activities in Hungary we are not only strengthening our company, but also society. Through our CSR programs, we want to give back something of what we receive from the Hungarian people and the Hungarian market," Kim Hyung Yun, Managing Director of Hankook's Rácalmás plant said.
In 2023, Hankook continued to launch numerous charity programs to support different areas and target groups.
Hankook 2023 also announced its Tire Donation Program, which has been running continuously for 12 years. Last year, the company donated more than 1,500 tires to almost 150 small non-profit organizations, including fire brigades, civil defense, municipalities and NGOs, contributing to road safety. For years, Hankook has also supported several nationally important organizations with its tires, such as the National Ambulance Service and the Directorate General for Disaster Management.
Another program, launched in the summer of 2013, gives the company's employees the opportunity to decide on the direction and use of the company's financial support. The principle of the program is that employees and representatives of the supported organizations volunteer in groups for the benefit of the communities where they live. The company will provide financial support for this work, provided that the colleagues involved in each volunteer project organize and carry out the project and the volunteer work themselves within the time limits set. More than 300 projects have been carried out under this scheme. In the year 2023, 30 more projects were completed with the help of staff, to which staff contributed hundreds of man-hours.
