The Hungarian Chamber of Health Care Professionals (MESZK) recognizes the irreplaceable work of health care professionals who are at the forefront of work during the coronavirus epidemic: workers will receive a thousand tablet computers.
As the Chamber told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday, an appeal was made for charity in March, to which many donations and offerings were received. 3,500 health professionals applied for the donation, from which the national presidency of the chamber selected the winners on the basis of objective evaluation criteria, taking into account the number of employees of the regional organizations.
Within the framework of the support implemented by the Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, Magyar Telekom, Samsung Hungary and MESZK, one thousand winners received a tablet – altogether worth more than HUF one hundred million –, as well as a SIM package containing a certain amount of data currently available free of charge.
The purpose of the donation is to give the children of professionals as many opportunities as possible to participate in distance learning, the Chamber said.
The majority of the winning applicants (588 people) work in different areas of nursing – such as adult, child, intensive care – and home care. 144 winners work in rescue and emergency care while 268 people applied successfully from the other eleven professional departments of the chamber.
