What does it mean to be well at a corporate and individual level? How do we impact not only profits but also mindset change? What makes a good leader and how to motivate employees? These were some of the topics on which leading figures in Hungarian business shared their thoughts on November 18 at a seminar jointly organized by Hammel and Hochreiter, AmCham Hungary, the Interim Managers Academy and the Institute of Directors Hungary.
The latest research, knowledge and experience shared during the seminar's presentations and round-table discussions offered participants new perspectives to face future challenges even more effectively. One survey showed considerable stress among participants, but more than 70% of those surveyed are nevertheless doing well. In our culture, it is "appropriate" to be busy and hectic, but not to be dissatisfied, and the majority of survey respondents take stressful working life for granted. However, a new measurement tool can measure both individual and company Stress Indexes and provide managers and companies with recommendations for action plans.
Experts from Hammel and Hochreiter Business & Management Consulting, the organizer of the event content, stressed that the sustainability and long-term success of corporate operations is closely linked to well-being at work and the importance of conscious leadership, a point confirmed by the psychologists, social psychologists and organizational development experts who took part in the discussions, highlighting the importance of individual choice.
Speakers agreed that the presence of self-identified leaders, capable of self-acceptance based on self-awareness, is a prerequisite for a sound organizational strategy. The presentations and examples highlighted that interim management solutions, building on the Dutch model used by Hammel Hochreiter, can effectively support companies in critical situations, in the absence of management resources or knowledge, or in managing change or crisis, tools that are mainly used in international manufacturing companies, but are also an exciting and effective solution in any company culture and industry. The interim management service is also highly effective for mindset shaping, preparing for a sale or generational change. These events, especially sales and generational change, are stressful for many family businesses, presenting both emotional and strategic challenges that can result in large losses or gains, even in the short term. Hammel Hochreiter's collaboration with the Institute of Hungary and its decades of experience and international network enable companies to successfully navigate these complex transitions while preserving their heritage and ensuring their future growth.
