The country’s chief medical officer, Cecília Müller announced at the daily briefing on Monday that the apex of viral infections in Hungary is expected on May 3, and the operational group in charge of coordinating measures in the pandemic has been preparing for it for a long time. She also pointed out that this peaking means that a kind of plateau is formed, meaning that the same number of illnesses will be registered for several days as before. However, they cannot say how long the expected plateau will last.
Nevertheless, the government does not plan to postpone the nationwide matriculation exams that are due to start on May 4.
