The members of the 76th Hungarian police contingent to North Macedonia, who are taking part in a mission that is important not only for Hungary but also for the European Union, were seen off at the premises of the Hungarian Standby Police this Tuesday, police.hu reports.
The mission in northern Macedonia is not within the framework of the European Union, but central European countries are helping to prevent illegal migrants from reaching Hungary, inland Europe.
The Hungarian police officers in North Macedonia will, among other things, carry out patrol duties, apprehend offenders, help enforce the lawand carry out their tasks with the help of off-road vehicles, thermal imaging cameras and night vision equipment, among other things.
The fact that this is the 76th time that a Hungarian contingent has been deployed to the northern border with Macedonia, shows, the government says, that Hungarian police officers are performing their duties to a high standard and that their service is internationally recognized.
