One of China's largest and most famous international economic fairs will be held in Xiamen in the coming days, and Hungary will be the guest of honor after Chinese President Xi Jinping personally invited Hungary to participate during his visit to Budapest, Levente Magyar, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said in his opening speech on Sunday.
"It is a great opportunity and a great honor for us", as many companies can present their products, services and innovative solutions, he added.
"Xiamen is located in the province of Fu-chen, which is important for Hungary because it is where most of China's working capital comes from, so we have discussed with the governor and the city government how to further expand relations," the state secretary said.
He added that next year, Xiamen will become the 8th city to have direct air links with Budapest.
The two sides also discussed cultural relations in order to promote better understanding between their countries. In addition to economic relations, it is important that there is a human basis for long-term international cooperation, to which there is great openness. "Hungary is respected and basically loved here," Levente Magyar said.
According to earlier information, the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA) and the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) will offer 20-20 square meters of exhibition space to trade visitors at the 24th China International Investment and Trade Fair, which opened on Sunday, while the National Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) will offer 60 square meters of exhibition space.
The Agricultural Marketing Centre (AMC) has a 60-square-meter show kitchen serving fresh food, while the Hungarian Wine Marketing Agency (MBÜ) has a 50-square-meter wine bar. The National Industrial Park Operator and Developer Ltd (NIPÜF) and the National Innovation Agency (NIÜ) will also be present at the national stand. The event will be a great opportunity for Hungarian companies to attract investors, they said.
