Almost 400,000 people visited Hungexpo Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center's events in the first half of the year, with several exhibitions breaking the previous record for the number of visitors, Hungexpo told MTI on Monday.
The event organizer said that the record-breaking AGROmashEXPO at the beginning of the year attracted almost 44,000 visitors to the seven pavilions of more than 300 exhibitors from 12 countries.
The 29th FeHoVa exhibition, which attracted 200 exhibitors in February, attracted 38,000 more visitors than last year, and the 45th Travel Exhibition and Caravan Show and the 31st Budapest Boat Show, which took place at the same time, also attracted significantly more visitors than last year.
In March, Construma and the concurrent HUNGAROTHERM building services exhibition and OTTHONDesign attracted 30,000 visitors over five days. The exhibition was attended by 500 exhibitors from 21 countries.
In May, the 10th Industry Days and the 11th Automotive Hungary exhibition, held at the same time, saw 370 exhibitors from 18 countries present the latest developments in industry and the automotive sector, with 14,000 visitors.
The first and biggest event of the second half of the year - the EAN European Neurological Congress - was attended by almost 6,000 people from 116 countries, with nearly 20,000 overnight stays in Budapest hotels in the first days of July.
According to the event organizer, the guest events were also a success, with more than 150,000 visitors attending 19 domestic and five international events in six months, indicating that Hungexpo is a popular venue for foreign exhibitors and conference organisers.
In the press release, it was also announced that Gábor Ganczer, CEO of Hungexpo Plc, has been appointed Director of the Lingotto Fiere exhibition center in Turin. In addition to his new mandate, he will continue to hold the position of CEO of Hungexpo.
