Identified COVID-19 Cases Surpass 280,000 in Hungary

The new coronavirus infection was detected in another 4,153 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of people identified as infected ince the outnreak of the pandemic in Hungary to 280,400.

According to the related government website, 181 people, mostly elderly and chronic patients, lost their lives in the past 24 hours, and thus, the number of deaths rose to 6,965. The number of people cured is currently 80,752, and the number of active people infected is 192,683.

The report also finds it important to note that 18% of the active infected, 21% of the dead and 23% of the recovered are from Budapest. (People in the capital city account for about 19= of the country's population) There are currently 7,646 coronavirus patients hospitalized, 606 of whom are on ventilators.
