Improving Pandemic Figures in Hungary

There have not been so few new infections in Hungary for nine months as in the past 24 hours, according to daily epidemiological data. However, the number of daily fatalities per population in the pandemic still features this country amon the world in the world.

258 new cases of the coronavirus have been identified, bringing the total number of infected cases since the beginning of the epidemic to 802,346, according to the government website.

The last time fewer new cases were reported was on September 1, 2020.

Forty-one mostly elderly, chronic patients died, bringing the total number of deaths to 29,560.

The number of cured cases fell to 670,205 and the number of active cases (by 1,168) to 102,581.

1,420 patients with coronavirus are in hospital, 21 more than the day before, 169 of whom are on ventilators, 16 fewer than a day earlier.

The official number of vaccinated people is 5,023,145, of whom 3,012,483 have already received their second vaccination. More than 17,000 first vaccinations were administered yesterday.

With the five million vaccinated, the curfew and the compulsory wearing of masks in public places have ended, and restrictions on the opening hours of shops and restaurants have been lifted. The use of masks remains mandatory in all places where protected and unprotected people can meet indoors, including on public transport and in shops.
