March of the Living in Budapest

Thousands of people marched through the downtown area of the Hungarian capital Sunday afternoon to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust. The march is the largest civic demonstration against racism, anti-Semitism and neo-Nazi and anti-democratic movements in Hungary.

This year, the March of the Living featured as speakers the representatives of the main Hungarian churches. Main speaker of the event was the poet and actor, protagonist of this year's Academy Award winning movie, the 'Son of Saul', Géza Röhrig.

He pointed out that Auschwitz in history is what the theory of realitivity in science: moone understands but it concerns everybody.
