Miss Jamaica of Hungarian descent

The winner of this year’s Miss Jamaica World title is of Hungarian descent. 18-year-old Gina Hargitay’s father grew up in Hungary while her mother is Jamaican. She also won sectional prizes for being 'Most Aware' and having 'Best Smile'.

"Coming into the pageant, my hope was to win," she said, adding that obviously the competition was stiff, particularly from the other two princesses, the local paper ‘The Gleaner’wrote.

She says her goal is “to own my own company after completing my History degree, Masters degree and possibly PhD.”
