NATO exercise in Hungary

In the framework of the Operation Atlantic Resolve, the assigned staff of the Hungarian Defense Forces undertake joint training in Bakony. The participating American and Hungarian troops were visited by U.S. Ambassador David B. Cornstein.

The joint exercise in the training of US soldiers and Hungarian soldiers takes place at the Bakony Combat Training Center of the Hungarian Defense Forces in Hajmáskér, SW of Budapest.

Operation Atlantic Resolve is meant as a show of force by NATO in Europe near Russia’s border. The initiative goes back to Russia’s annexation of Crimea from Ukraine in 2014, leading to fears in Europe that Russia could attempt similar occupations in the region.
