New Coronavirus Fatalities Exceed 23,000 in Hungary

Another 245 Hungarian patients fell victim to the new coronavirus infection, increasing the official number of pandemic-related deaths to 23.211 in this country.

8,053 new infections were identified by Saturday morning and this has increased the number of identified infections to a total of 713,868 since the outbreak began, the government site koronavirus.gov.hu reports.

The number of recovered people increased to 423,366. Unfortunately, the number of active infected people is also rising dynamically: it is already at 267,291.

According to official data, the number of people in need of hospital treatment has decreased, and the institutions currently treat 10,921 patients with coronavirus, 1,344 of whom are on ventilators.

Vaccination is ongoing, with the number of jabs administered rising to 2,760,938, of whom 1,171,475 have already received their second vaccination.
